Once you register for the class, you will receive a link to download the Life's A Beach workbook. You will also be invited to a private Facebook group (Christmas in July Cookie Class with Karen) where you can access the RECORDED CLASS.
This class is suitable for both beginner and intermediate cookiers. You will have the opportunity to ask questions in our private Facebook group prior to class and there will be additional supports in the workbook with beginners in mind. The live class will be focused on getting right into decorating!
You will learn how to decorate five cookies:
Gingerbread Man in Hawaiian print shorts
Santa with sunglasses
Watermelon Christmas tree
Sea star with an elf hat
Sand bucket with Christmas goodies
Techniques we'll cover in class:
Working with medium consistency icing for both outlining and flooding
Using tipless bags
Wet on wet techniques
Applying sprinkles
Flooding sections to add dimension
Tips for avoiding craters
Before class you will be responsible for:
Mixing the dough and baking the cookies (in advance of the class to participate live)
Making, coloring and bagging the icing to a medium consistency (in advance of the class to participate live)
Purchasing all ingredients and tools such as cookie cutter bundle from Periwinkles Cutters, sprinkles, ingredients, etc--I provide links for all in the workbook)

Virtual logistics:
After purchasing the class, you will receive a link to download the prep workbook (this link and workbook will be sent out two weeks before class)
Class is held via Facebook Live. This a webinar format where you will watch me decorate. There will be a chat and Q&A function to ask questions!
The live class will be primarily demonstration and it may move too fast for you in real time. Just keep that in mind! You can always watch the recording later to catch up.
After the completion of the live class, I will upload the recording to the private Facebook Group (Christmas in July Cookie Class with Karen) page. This is where you can view the recording as many times as you'd like.
You do NOT need to attend the live session! If you'd rather just watch the recording at a later time, that is completely ok and encouraged. At the same time, you are welcome to watch the live and just observe/ask questions (and then watch the recording later to actually make the cookies yourself).
Please note there will be time at the end of class to ask any additional lingering questions.
